If you have a Samsung or LG smart TV, sooner or later you'll come across three names: Set IPTV, Net IPTV and Flix IPTV. They're three separate apps from different developers, but they work in almost exactly the same way. You don't type your login on the TV. Instead, the app shows your TV's MAC address, and you upload your playlist on the app's website.
Because the process is the same, this guide explains it once, clearly, and then tells you what makes each app different. That way you can pick the one that suits you and have it running in about ten minutes.

What do these three apps have in common?
- They're IPTV players: they contain no channels themselves and play the subscription you add.
- They run on Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS) smart TVs, and most also on Android TV.
- They link your playlist to the TV through its MAC address, via the app's official website.
- They offer a free trial period, then ask for a small one-time activation fee per TV, paid to the app's developer. Check the current price in the app or on its official website.
What you need
- An M3U playlist link from your IPTV provider. Some of these apps also accept Xtream Codes details on their website. With Genova TV you receive both on WhatsApp after your order or free test.
- A phone or computer to open the app's website.
- A stable connection on the TV: at least 15 Mbps for HD and 25 Mbps for 4K. A network cable to the TV is best.
Step 1: Install the app on your TV
- Press Home on the remote.
- Open the app store: Apps on Samsung, LG Content Store (or Apps) on LG.
- Search for Set IPTV, Net IPTV or Flix IPTV.
- Install the app and open it.
Can't find it? Store availability varies by TV model and region. In that case, try one of the other two apps, or IBO Player, which works in a similar way.
Step 2: Write down your MAC address
When the app opens, the screen shows your TV's MAC address, in the format `a1:b2:c3:d4:e5:f6`. Some apps also show a device key or code. Write both down or take a photo. The website uses them to know which TV should receive your playlist.
Step 3: Upload your playlist on the app's website
- On your phone or computer, open the official website of the app you installed. The address is shown in the app itself.
- Go to the page for uploading or managing playlists.
- Enter your TV's MAC address (and device key, if asked) exactly as shown.
- Paste your full M3U link, or enter your Xtream Codes details if the site offers that option.
- If there's a field for an EPG link, add the one from your provider so the TV guide works.
- Save or send the playlist.
Only use the website address shown inside the app. Copycat sites that ask for your MAC address and payment details are common.
Step 4: Restart the app
Close the app completely, or switch the TV off and on, then open it again. The app downloads your playlist and your channel groups appear. The first time, this can take a minute with a large subscription.

What's different about each app?
Set IPTV
Set IPTV is one of the longest-established apps of the three. It's straightforward and focused on live TV, with a simple channel list and guide. A good choice if you want something that just works and mainly watch live channels.
Net IPTV
Net IPTV is also simple and light, with a clear list of channel groups. It runs well on older and less powerful TVs. A good pick for an older Samsung or LG set, or for viewers who don't need much beyond live TV.
Flix IPTV
Flix IPTV has the most modern interface of the three and puts more emphasis on films and series, with posters and separate sections. If on-demand content matters to you as much as live TV, Flix IPTV is usually the most pleasant to use.
Which should you choose?
- Mainly live TV, older TV: Net IPTV or Set IPTV.
- Live TV plus lots of films and series: Flix IPTV.
- None available on your TV: IBO Player, or a Fire TV Stick or Android TV stick with TiviMate.
Many apps offer a free trial, so you can try more than one before paying for an activation.
Tips for everyday use
- Favourites. Mark your regular channels so you don't scroll through thousands.
- Parental PIN. Protect adult categories if children use the TV.
- Re-upload after changes. If your provider sends a new link, upload it again on the website and restart the app.
- Use a cable. Smart TV Wi-Fi is often weak, and a cable prevents most buffering.
Common problems
- No channels after uploading: the MAC address doesn't match, or the app wasn't restarted. Check the address character by character.
- "Playlist error": the link was cut off when copying, or the subscription isn't active yet. Copy it again in full.
- Activation message: the trial has ended. Activate on the official website, then restart.
- Nothing works after a TV reset: the MAC address may have changed. Upload your playlist again under the new address.
Frequently asked questions
Are Set IPTV, Net IPTV and Flix IPTV free?
Each offers a free trial period. After that, each asks for a small one-time activation per TV, paid to its own developer. Your IPTV subscription is always separate.
Do I need all three apps?
No. Pick one. They all play the same subscription.
Can I move my activation to a new TV?
Activation is linked to the TV's MAC address. For a new TV, check the developer's current terms on the official website.
Are these apps legal?
Yes, they're legal media players. Whether what you watch is legal depends on your subscription provider.
